IOWA CITY, IA – The University of Iowa softball team returns to Pearl Field Saturday for the 2010 home opener. The Hawkeyes host South Dakota in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. Head Coach Gayle Blevins, now in her 23rd season at the helm of Iowa softball, returns nine letterwinners from the 2009 squad that advanced to the NCAA Regional Tournament.
The Hawkeyes are currently 11-11 and will play a doubleheader versus Florida Atlantic Thursday, March 18 before returning to Iowa City. Admission to Pearl Field is $3 for adults. There is no charge for youth (high school age and younger) and UI students with a valid student ID.
