IOWA CITY, IA – University of Iowa senior Kelcie Klockenga and sophomore Sonja Molnar each earned Big Ten laurels at the conference’s annual awards banquet Thursday night. Molnar was named first-team all-conference and Klockenga earned the Big Ten’s sportsmanship honor.
Molnar earned first team all-conference honors after compiling a 26-9 singles record. The unanimous selection marks the second time in as many seasons Molnar has earned first-team accolades. She is currently ranked 62nd individually by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
Klockenga was named Iowa’s Big Ten sportsmanship honoree. Each Big Ten institution recognized one member from its team that represents the Big Ten’s highest standards of sportsmanship. Klockenga is in the midst of the most successful season of her career, posting an 18-9 singles record to complement a 21-10 mark with doubles teammate Jessica Young.
