2 Hawkeyes Garner All-America Honors

IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa field hockey seniors Jessica Barnett and Kathleen McGraw earned All-America recognition from Synapse Sports. Barnett is a second team All-American, while McGraw earned third team All-America honors.

Barnett earns her second career All-America accolade after scoring 10 goals and posting four assists as a senior. The North Vancouver, Canada, native was also a unanimous first team All-Big Ten, a Big Ten all-Tournament team and an NFHCA First Team West Region All-American as a senior. Barnett was a third team NFHCA All-American in 2011.

McGraw earns her first All-America recognition after playing every minute in goal for the Hawkeyes during the 2012 campaign. The Atherton, Calif., native posted five shutouts as a senior en route to earning first team All-Big Ten and an NFHCA West Region All-America nod.

Barnett and McGraw were two-year team captains for the Hawkeyes. The duo also competed in the NFHCA Senior Game on Nov. 17 in Norfolk, Va.

Iowa finished the 2012 season with a 14-7 overall record. The Hawkeyes made their 22nd NCAA Tournament appearance, falling to No. 7 Virginia in the Sweet 16.
