IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa softball team’s games scheduled for March 29-30 against Wisconsin in Madison, Wis., have been moved to Pearl Field in Iowa City due to field conditions.
The Hawkeyes will host the Badgers in a three-game series beginning at 4 p.m. (CT) on Friday, March 29. Iowa and Wisconsin will conclude the set with a doubleheader on Saturday, March 30. Start times are scheduled for 1 and 3 p.m.
The teams will meet in Madison next season.
Iowa (19-8) is off to its best start since the 2009 season, when it opened with a 23-4 record in its first 27 games. The Hawkeyes, receiving votes in both major polls, have won 10-of-13 overall. Iowa has five wins over ranked opponents (No. 11 Louisiana-Lafayette, No. 11 Louisville, No. 15 Stanford, No. 21 Kentucky, No. 24 Oregon State).
Wisconsin is 22-3 overall. The Badgers enter league play on a 10-game winning streak.
Iowa opens its home slate and Big Ten schedule this weekend with a three-game series against Minnesota. The Hawkeyes (19-8) and Golden Gophers (17-10) will open play today at 4 p.m., before squaring off at 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. All games will be played at Pearl Field in Iowa City. Admission to Pearl Field is $5 for adults. There is no charge for youth (high school age and younger) or UI students with a valid student ID.
