IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa softball team enters the 2014 Big Ten Softball Tournament as the No. 8 seed and will face No. 9 seed Illinois in round one of the tournament — hosted by Northwestern in Evanston, Illinois — at 4:30 p.m. (CT) on May 8.
The Hawkeyes opened the Big Ten slate at Illinois this year and took two-of-three from the Fighting Illini in Champaign, Illinois. Iowa won game one after nine innings, 4-3, and game two, 10-7, before falling to Illinois in the finale, 4-3, after eight innings.
