THIS WEEK FOR THE HAWKEYES
The University of Iowa women’s tennis team is on the road for the first time in 2016. The Hawkeyes travel to Norman, Oklahoma, to take on the University of Oregon and the University of Oklahoma for a weekend matchup at the Gregg Wadley Tennis Pavilion. Iowa faces Oregon on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and Oklahoma on Sunday at 11 a.m. (CT.)

ON THE ROAD
The Hawkeyes travel to Oklahoma for a road matchup between the University of Oregon and the University of Oklahoma. Iowa last faced both teams during the 2015 season, losing 4-3 against Oregon and 4-0 against Oklahoma. The Hawkeyes have met Oregon and Oklahoma on the court a combined ten times in Hawkeye history, and are 4-6.
HAWKEYES CARRY ON WINNING
Iowa is carrying a 6-0 start for the fifth time in program history coming off home wins against UMKC and Illinois State on Feb. 13. The last time Iowa’s winning streak reached over six was during the 2008 season when Iowa started the spring 8-0.
CLIMBING THE RANKINGS, DOUGLAS UNDEFEATED
Sophomore Zoe Douglas continues her good play as the Hawkeyes prepare for their first away match this weekend. Douglas is 4-0 and currently ranked No. 92 in the latest ITA singles poll.
B1G No. 1 STANDINGS
Iowa is sitting atop the Big Ten standings following their 6-0 start to the season. They are the only team in the Big Ten to have an undefeated record, Ohio State trails Iowa at the No. 2 spot with a 9-1 record. Iowa’s best finish in the Big Ten came in the 2006 season when the Hawkeyes finished second with a 18-6 overall record.
DOUBLES DUOS UNDEFEATED
The Hawkeyes have a perfect record in doubles this season. The seven doubles combinations are 15-0 and have won every doubles point this season. Natalie Looney and Aimee Tarun are 5-0 and lead the Hawkeyes with the most doubles wins.
REIMCHEN AT No. 1 SINGLES
Sophomore Anastasia Reimchen is 3-1 at the No. 1 singles position. Since falling in the home opener to Ema Turudija of Missouri State, Reimchen has won her last three singles matches. Reimchen’s most recent singles match against Illinois State’s Marcia Tere-Apisah was abandoned, she led 7-5 after the first set.
FACING TWO RANKED OPPONENTS
The Hawkeyes are set to take on two ranked teams this weekend in Oklahoma. Oregon is ranked No. 48 in ITA standings and Oklahoma stands at No. 36. The last time Iowa defeated a ranked opponent was in the 2014 season when the Hawkeyes defeated three ranked teams, one of those three was No. 72 ranked Oregon, Iowa won 5-2 at home.
