Softball Adds 4 to 2022 Roster

IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa softball team has added Bailey Broemmer, Maren Judisch, Tatianna Roman and Bridget Stover to its 2022 roster, head coach Renee Gillispie announced Tuesday.

Judisch will transfer to Iowa from Baylor, and Roman joins the Hawkeyes from Alabama A&M. Broemmer and Stover have both accepted written offers of admissions.

Bailey Broemmer
OF | Wentzville, Missouri | Timberland 

  • Three-time all-conference and all-district selection
  • Helped lead team to 2019 conference championship
  • Holds school records for most home runs in a season, home runs in a career, home runs in a game, and RBIs in a season
  • Played four years of varsity basketball, four years of varsity track, and two years of varsity soccer
  • She holds the school javelin record

Maren Judisch
RHP | Waukee, Iowa | Des Moines Christian | Baylor 

  • Appeared in 14 games as a freshman and 20 as a sophomore for the Lady Bears
  • Started six games for Baylor with two complete games and a shutout
  • Holds a career 2.08 ERA in 74 innings pitched with 44 strikeouts
  • Earned 2019 PGF Nationals 18U Platinum, All-Tournament Team and All-Tournament MVP Pitcher
  • Max Preps Softball Player of the Year for Iowa in 2020

Tatianna Roman
OF | Cypress, California | Cypress | Alabama A&M 

  • Started all 40 games for Alabama A&M in 2021
  • Had a .308 batting average, with 24 runs, 41 hits, 6 doubles, 2 triples, and 13 RBIs
  • Two-time All-Empire League Second Team selection
  • Helped lead team to 2019 CIF Southern State Championship
  • Plays for the Puerto Rico National Team
  • Fifth place finish with Puerto Rico in the 2022 World Games
  • Won two bronze medals with Puerto Rican National Junior team in 2021

Bridget Stover
C | Winterset, Iowa | Winterset 

  • Two-time Iowa State Champion (2020 and 2022)
  • Two-time first team all-state selection
  • Four-time first team all-conference selection
  • Hit .370 in senior year with 40 RBIs
  • United States Marine Corps Class of 2022 Distinguished Athlete Award
  • Tallied 500 kills in volleyball and 500 points in basketball

The four new Hawkeyes join nine other 2022 signees and 16 returners. The other signees are Jalen Adams, Tory Bennett, Sterling Berndt, Avery Jackson, Echo Mattiello, Bailey Olreich, Skylinn Pogue, Anna Streff, and Kelsey Winters.
