• This is Iowa’s sixth regional apperance and third under head coach Rick Heller. The Hawkeyes have apperances in 1972, 1975, 1990, 2015, 2017, and 2023)
• Heller is now tied with Duane Banks (1970-1997) for most regional apperances in school history.
• Heller recorded his 300th win at Iowa on April 14 against Minnesota. Heller is the third coach in Hawkeye history to reach 300 (Duane Banks and Otto Vogel). He recorded his 1,000th career win on May 6 against Ohio State. Heller has the 10th most wins among active coaches.
• The Hawkeyes got off to their best start in program history (19-3), passing the 1939 team (18-4).
• Iowa came into the regional outscoring its opponents 466-241, they were averaging 8.3 runs per game. That ranked 23rd in the nation.
• The pitching staff had a 4.04 ERA good for 11th in the nation. The Iowa staff ranked second in the country in hits allowed per nine innings (6.68), fifth in strikeouts per nine (11.0), and the Iowa defense has a .981 fielding percentage which ranked 14th in the country. The Hawkeyes have a .298 batting average. Iowa ranked 14th in the nation in on base percentage (.418), 20th in the nation in runs scored, 25th with 126 doubles, and 27th with 311 walks.
