The March Continues

IOWA CITY — The UI Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will continue its “March to a Million” program Sunday, Oct. 8, when the Iowa field hockey team entertains Northwestern at 1 p.m. at Grant Field.

Fans of Hwkeyes attending Sunday’s field hockey match could win a pair of outdoor club seats for Iowa’s football game against Northern Illinois, pairs of tickets to upcoming men’s basketball, women’s baksetball and wrestling events, and more!

The first 100 fans through the gates on Sunday will receive a free “March to a Million” t-shirt. Inside randomly selected shirts will be prizes ranging from a pair of outdoor club seats inside the Paul W. Brechler Press Box when the nationally ranked Iowa Hawkeyes entertain Northern Illinois on Oct. 28, pairs of tickets to the Iowa-Northern Illinois, Iowa-Northwestern and Iowa-Wisconsin football games, pairs of tickets the Iowa men’s and women’s basketball team’s games against Northern Iowa, pairs of tickets to the Iowa-Arizona State wrestling match, and a gift certificates to the Official Iowa Hawk Shop.

The UI will surpass 300,000 “actively engaged fans” this weekend with the staging of this year’s Homecoming football game against Purdue and the March to a Million event at Grant Field.

“We’re off to a very good start and gaining momentum,” said Rick Klatt, the UI’s associate director of athletics for external affairs who noted that he was pleased to hear that more than 4,000 rounds of golf were played at Finkbine Golf Course in September.
