Iowa In 11th After First Day

EAST LANGSING, MI – The Iowa men’s golf team finished day one in 11th at the Bruce Fossum Invitational hosted by Michigan State. The Hawkeyes carded a two-round score of 603 (+27), which was only one stroke behind Big Ten opponent Wisconsin (602, +26). Indiana (575, -1) is in first place, and has a four stroke advantage over second place Illinois (579, +3), going into the final round.

Andy Tiedt and Dan Holterhaus are leading the Hawkeyes at Forest Akers West Course. Tiedt is tied for 16th, shooting a 147 (+3), while Holterhaus is tied for 30th, carding a 149 (+5). Jon Feldick in a tie for 41st (152, +8), Todd Larson is in a tie for 55th (155, +11), while Brian deBuhr sits in 65th (164, +20).

Charlie Soule of Denver and Chris Wilson of Northwestern are in a tie for first going into the final round. Both fired two-round of 138 (-6).
