The Iowa men’s gymnastics team fell to Nebraska by a final score of 353.600 to 349.400 Friday night in Lincoln.
The Hawkeyes tied their 2008 team high score of 249.400, and posted two first place finishes. Geoff Reins had a big night against Nebraska, placing first in both of his events. Reins scored a new event high on the vault (16.300) and in the floor exercise (15.100). Jacob Becker broke another event record on pommel horse, placing second with a 14.900. On the horizontal bar, Joel Snyder placed second, scoring 14.55 to break yet another event high for the night.
The Hawkeyes will return to action when they travel to Minneapolis, MN, to compete against Minnesota, March 21. Competition is scheduled to being at 7 p.m. at the Sports Pavilion.
