Austin, TX – The University of Iowa softball team dropped its second game Friday, falling to Florida State, 6-0, at the Time Warner Cable Texas Invitational. The Hawkeyes were only able to collect one hit in the contest.

Seminole starting pitcher Terese Gober went the distance, allowing only hit while striking out nine. Freshman Katie Keim registered the lone Hawkeye hit on the afternoon.

Florida State got on the board early with two runs in the bottom of the first to take an early lead. The Seminoles added another run in the second for a 3-0 advantage and took advantage of two Hawkeye errors in the fifth to plate three more runs to double the lead at 6-0.

Junior Amanda Zust took the loss in her first outing of the 2009 season. The Des Moines native allowed four earned runs on nine hits while striking out three and walking two.
