July 6, 2010

IOWA CITY- University of Iowa rowing member Jessica Novack earned second team all-American honors by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA). The award recognizes the outstanding performances of rowers and coxswains on the national level in women’s collegiate rowing.

Nominated student-athletes must meet all eligibility rules as defined by her institution, must have rowed at least 75% of the current spring season’s races in the varsity boat, must be nominated by her institution, and the head coach must be a member in good standing of the CRCA.

Novack was honored, along with 41 other rowers, throughout the country.

“Congratulations to Jessica and her accomplishments,” said Head Coach Mandi Kowal. “It’s quite an honor to be named an all-American. Only 42 athletes were chosen in the country. She has worked hard and that was clear this year as she set the tone for the team on the erg. This will not end as she works this summer in Craftsbury to improve her rowing. Once again, she continues her commitment to be the best which will help her have a great senior year.”
