PALO ALTO, Calif. — Three University of Iowa swimmers — Paul Gordon, Jordan Huff and Tyler Lentz — posted Olympic Trial qualifying times at the 2011 ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships.
Gordon placed 22nd in the C-final in the 100-free with a time of 50.54. This morning, Gordon posted his top time, touching the wall in 50.47 in his preliminary race.
Huff finished 68th in the same event with a time of 51.27 for an Olympic Trial qualifying mark. Duncan Partridge, meanwhile, posted a time of 51.73 to place 102nd.
Lentz was the third Hawkeye to qualify for the Olympic Trials, but his qualifying time came in the 200-IM. Lentz touched the wall in 64th place with a time of 2:05.65.
Three Hawkeyes will compete tomorrow in the Championships. Byron Butler and Donny Warren will swim the 200-back, while Andrew Marciniak will compete in the 200-breast.
