Iowa Completes Play at Erin Hills

HARTFORD, Wisc. — The University of Iowa men’s golf team concluded play at the Marquette Intercollegiate at Erin Hills on Tuesday.
 
Redshirt junior Alex Moorman fired an eagle and three birdies for a final round score of 72 (E). He tied 10th with a season-best 54-hole total of 217 (+1), marking his first top-10 finish of the season.
 
Junior Benton Weinberg carded a 74 (+2) in the final round to finish the tournament with a three-round score of 220 (+4), tying 21st.
 
Junior Alex Schaake tied for 25th place after posting four birdies to finish with a 54-hole score of 221 (+5) after shooting a third-round score of 73 (+1). The Omaha, Nebraska, native has finished 25th or better in all three tournaments this fall.
 
Senior Aaron Denucci finished tied 64th with a three-round score of 235 (+19) after posting an 80 (+8) in today’s final round.
 
Freshman Gonzalo Leal Montero shot his fourth round at or below par after carding a 71 (-1) in the third round.

The Hawkeyes will travel to South Bend, Indiana, for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Classic, Oct. 7-8, at the Warren Golf Course.
