CLEARWATER, Fla. — The University of Iowa softball team (10-8) dropped game three of the USF Series to the USF Bulls, 1-0, on Saturday night at the Eddie C. Moore Complex.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hawkeyes and Bulls remained deadlocked through five innings. Junior Allison Doocy kept the Bulls offense in control, striking out four over six innings.
USF drew a walk to start its half of the sixth inning. After a stolen base and a sac bunt, the Bulls scored their first and only run of the game on an RBI double.
Iowa went down in order in the top of the seventh for the team’s second consecutive loss.
OF NOTE…
Senior Mallory Kilian hit her first triple of the season in the sixth inning. Kilian is batting .333 with two doubles, a triple, and a home run in Clearwater.
