24 Hawkeyes to Watch 2018-19 | Hawk Talk Monthly – May
MACOMB, Ill. — Rain showers forced the University of Iowa baseball game to cancel its final midweek game of the season Tuesday at Alfred B. Boyer Stadium against Western Illinois. With an all grass playing field, no lights, and travel accommodations for both teams Wednesday, the game was scratched.
The Hawkeyes did score a run in the top of the first after senior Chris Whelan scored on an Izaya Fullard double. Before Trenton Wallace threw a pitch in the bottom of the first, umpires and managers called the game.
The Hawkeyes (30-19, 12-9) sit in sixth place in the Big Ten standings as they travel to College Park to face Maryland for a series from May 16-18.
