TULSA, OKLA. – University of Iowa senior Elise van Heuvelen Treadwell lost a hard-fought match in the final round of the prequalifying draw at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Van Heuvelen Treadwell was defeated by Megan Davies from South Carolina 6-1, 7-6 (8). Davies was ranked No. 125 in the ITA preseason poll.

“Tough match today for Elise, she struggled to find a rhythm to start the match, but she fought hard and put herself in a position to get to a third set. Unfortunately, she came up a few points short,” said assistant coach Daniel Leitner. “Overall her level over these last two days was really good.”

The Hawkeyes continue action Monday with van Heuvelen Treadwell and sophomore Samantha Mannix competing in doubles.

Results will be posted on hawkeyesports.com.
