THIS WEEK FOR THE HAWKEYES
The University of Iowa women’s tennis team hosts two matches this weekend. Iowa faces DePaul on Friday at 5 p.m (CT), and Kansas State at noon (CT) on Sunday. Matches will take place at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex. Admission is free for all matches.

“Our challenging non-conference schedule continues as we have two solid teams coming into Iowa City this weekend. Both matches will be competitive test for us, and we are looking forward to the home matches.”

TAKING ON THE BLUE DEMONS
This is the 18th meeting between Iowa and DePaul. Iowa leads the all-time series, 12-5.

This is the 10th meeting between the Hawkeyes and the Wildcats. Iowa lead the series, 6-3.

FAMILIAR FACE
DePaul assistant coach Cassidy Spearman was a volunteer assistant at Iowa during the 2019 spring season. 

TWICE AS NICE
Danielle Bauers and Ashleigh Jacobs lead Iowa with three doubles wins. They led the team in the fall with a 4-2 record, and were 2-2 last season. The Hawkeyes are 2-0 this season when winning the doubles point. 

LEADING THE WAY
The Hawkeyes are led by senior Elise van Heuvelen Treadwell, a three-time All-Big-Ten selection. Van Heuvelen Treadwell has a chance to become just the fourth Hawkeye ever to be a four-time selection (Laura Dvorak 1992-95, Toni Neykova 1999-2002, and Sonja Molnar 2009-12). She leads Iowa with a 5-1 singles record. 

HAWKEYE NEWCOMERS
The Hawkeyes welcome two newcomers; freshman Erika Dodridge from Bournemouth, England, and sophomore Samantha Gillas from New Braunfels, Texas. Dodridge is a four-time International Tennis Federation champion, she reached the top 200 of the 16U Europe Junior Circuit in 2016. Dodridge won the D draw at the Gopher Invitational this fall. Gillas is a Virginia Tech transfer. As a freshman she was 28-12 in singles during the fall and the spring. She added seven doubles wins for the Hokies in the spring. She was named an ITA Academic scholar, and All-Academic ACC her freshman year. In high school she won both an individual and team Texas state championship.
