Hawkeyes Drop Match to Minnesota, 4-1

MINNEAPOLIS – The University of Iowa women’s tennis team dropped their match to Minnesota on Friday, 4-1.
 
Minnesota took the doubles point winning the number one and two matches. Cammy Frei and Tiffany Huber defeated Michelle Bacalla and Elise van Heuvelen Treadwell, 6-4. Ekin Ercetin and Delila Said beat Ashleigh Jacobs and Danielle Bauers, 6-4.
 
The Gophers took three of four singles matches to clinch the victory. Said defeated van Heuvelen Treadwell 6-3, 6-4 at the number one position. In the number five position, River Hart defeated Bauers 6-3, 6-1. At the number six position Juliet Zhang beat Danielle Burich 6-1, 6-3. The Hawkeyes point came at the number four position when Jacobs defeated Frei 6-3, 6-3.

“We have had three very similar matches so far this season where we had the opportunity and didn’t take it. We must change that around quickly. We have another big battle tomorrow against Marquette.”
