IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa softball team was defeated, 7-0, by Northwestern on Friday afternoon at Bob Pearl Field.
Senior Lauren Shaw got the start in the circle for the Hawkeyes. Shaw struck out five in five innings pitched.
Northwestern got a perfect game from Danielle Williams as she retired all 21 Hawkeye batters faced.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Northwestern struck early with a solo homerun in the first inning. They would add three more runs in the sixth with a single, a double, and a home run.
The Wildcats added three runs in the seventh after three straight walks and two singles.

“We knew coming in that she was going to be a tough pitcher against us. She is really good at keeping everyone off balance. She throws a lot of off speed; she works a lot off the plate. We needed to be more disciplined. We are not disciplined enough at the plate right now.”
