Iowa’s Varsity Eight Earns Big Ten Boat of the Week

IOWA CITY, Iowa – No. 19 University of Iowa’s Varsity Eight was named the Big Ten Boat of the Week Tuesday after earning wins over Kansas, Minnesota, and Oklahoma last weekend at the B1G/B12 Double Dual in Kansas City, Kansas.

This honor marks the 17th time in school history a boat has tabbed as the Big Ten’s best of the week. It is also the first weekly honor for the Hawkeyes since May 3, 2022.

The Hawkeyes defeated Kansas, Minnesota, and Oklahoma in the V8 race with the lineup of: Cara Burns (coxswain), Emma Dabinett, Kassandra McWhorter, Lisa Murphy, Abbey Klostermann, Taryn Lindaman, Molly Shannon, Hailey Mercuri, and Orla Cuffe.
