Iowa City, Iowa – The University of Iowa rowing team finished its first fall event of the season in a scrimmage against the Drake Bulldogs on the Iowa River.
The Hawkeyes competed in eight and four boats, consisting of 1-kilometer sprints.
Iowa is back in action on Oct. 13-14, for an exhibition against Indiana and Wisconsin in Bloomington, Indiana.
Quoting Head Coach Jeff Garbutt
“To be able to have the whole roster race at home, on Homecoming, is really special for our athletes to get to showcase what they do. I think there is a lot of work to be done still, but today was a great first step. We really appreciate the Drake Bulldogs coming over here and giving us the opportunity to have a scrimmage to open up the 2023-24 season.”
