UI competed against a stacked field consisting of, No. 3 Princeton and No. 8 Penn, as well as Big Ten rivals, No. 15 Rutgers and No. 17 Indiana. In the women’s open four, Iowa placed 3rd overall.
The Hawkeyes will open up their spring season in Orlando, Fla. on Feb. 9 with an exhibition against the University of Central Florida.
Quoting Head Coach Jeff Garbutt
“The Princeton Chase, once again, served as an amazing test for the Hawkeyes. Getting to race some of the top teams in the country really helped to test our resilience as a team and our results show some real promise for the spring season. The weekend was highlighted by our top three finish in the women’s open four. Everyone raced hard in both of their 3-mile races. We learned a lot about racing today and have our sights set on improving through winter training.”
