IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa gymnastics head coach Larissa Libby announced the addition of two members to the 2024 signing class in Cassie Lee and Aurélie Tran.
Both signees come to Iowa from Canada and have international competition experience representing Team Canada.
“I am thrilled to be announcing the continuation of superb Canadians signing with Iowa,” said Head Coach Larissa Libby. “Both Cassie and Aurélie have been on a steady upswing over the past year, with Aurelie winning this year’s National Championship, and both ladies named to the World and Pan American Games team.”
Cassie Lee
Toronto, Ontario, Canada | Manjak’s Gymnastics | Northview Heights Secondary School
- Won the bronze medal with Team Canada at the 2023 Pan American Games and the 2023 Pan American Championships.
- Won the gold medal on balance beam at the 2023 City of Jesolo Trophy in Italy.
- Represented Team Canada at the 2023 World Gymnastics Championships in Belgium.
- In 2022, won the bronze medal with Team Canada at the Commonwealth Games in England and the City of Jesolo Trophy in Italy.
- Had a second-place finish at the 2022 Elite Canada Competition in the all-around.
- Won the gold medal on the balance beam at the 2021 Koper World Challenge Cup in Slovenia.
- Represented Team Canada at the 2021 World Gymnastics Championships in Japan.
- Graduated an “Ontario Scholar” (achieved over 80% in all Grade 12 courses).

Aurélie Tran
Repentigny, Quebec, Canada | Gymnix | Antoine-de-St-Exupéry secondary school
- Won the bronze medal with Team Canada at the 2023 Pan American Games and the 2023 Pan American Championships.
- Won individual bronze medals on balance beam and in the all-around at the 2023 Pan American Championships in Colombia.
- Represented Team Canada at the 2023 World Gymnastics Championships in Belgium.
- Won the bronze medal on floor at the 2023 DTB Pokal Team Challenge in Germany.
- 2023 Elite Canada Senior Champion
- 2023 Canadian Senior National Champion
- Represented Team Canada at the 2021 Junior Pan American Games and won silver on uneven bars and bronze in the all-around.
