Hawkeyes Announce WBB Nonconference Slate

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa women’s basketball team announced its 2024-25 nonconference schedule Thursday, it was announced by P. Sue Beckwith, MD, Head Women’s Basketball Coach Jan Jensen. The schedule features six home contests in Iowa City.

The Hawkeyes will play one preseason exhibition game, hosting Missouri Western on Oct. 30 in Carver-Hawkeye Arena.  Iowa opens the regular season with a home game against Northern Illinois on Nov. 6.

Iowa travels to Charlotte, North Carolina, for the Ally Tipoff to face Virginia Tech for the second consecutive season. The Hawkeyes then return home to host Toledo before hitting the road for an in-state tilt against Drake on Nov. 17. Iowa will compete against Kansas in a neutral site game in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on Nov. 20 before returning to Carver-Hawkeye Arena to face Washington State before Thanksgiving Break.

The Hawkeyes are set to travel to the Cancun Challenge from Nov. 28-29 where they face Rhode Island and BYU. Iowa will then take on Tennessee in the inaugural Women’s Champions Classic in Brooklyn, New York, on Dec. 7.

Iowa closes its nonconference slate with a pair of December in-state contests, beginning with the annual Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series matchup against Iowa State, which will be played on Dec. 11 in Iowa City. After breaking for finals, the Hawkeyes conclude nonconference play against Northern Iowa on Dec. 20.

The Hawkeyes are coming off a season where they won a school-record 34 games, claimed a Big Ten Tournament title and advanced to the NCAA Championship game for a second consecutive season. Iowa returns a pair of starters in 2024-25 under Jensen, who is in her first season as head coach.

Women’s basketball renewal season tickets will be priced at $210 for adults, $175 for faculty/staff and senior discounts and $100 for youth tickets. New season tickets will be priced at $225 for adults, $190 for faculty/staff and senior discounts and $115 for youth.

The process for securing student tickets for women’s basketball seasons will be announced at later date.
