HAWKEYE MILESTONE WATCH

WORDEN ON A ROLL
Redshirt sophomore Alyssa Worden has found a midseason resurgence in her offense. Worden has recorded a double-double in each of Iowa's matches during the 3-1 stretch in late October and early November. Re-entering the starting lineup on Oct. 24 against Michigan State, Worden put up a career-high double-double with 16 kills and 15 digs. She followed that performance up with 10 kills and 10 digs in a come-from-behind win over Rutgers. Last weekend, Worden had 13 kills and 10 digs in a five-set defeat at Northwestern. Her 14 dig and 11 kill double-double at Illinois was clutch in delivering Iowa its first win in Champaign since 2005.

WHITTINGSTALL EARNS B1G HONOR
Junior Hannah Whittingstall was named the Big Ten’s Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 27 after recording her first career double-double with a season-high 14 kills and a career-high tying 10 blocks in Iowa’s reverse sweep of Rutgers. Whittingstall hit a team-high .636 in the victory, converting on 14-of-22 swings without committing an error. The San Antonio, Texas, native tallied 28 kills and 15 blocks combined in the wins over Michigan State and Rutgers and averaged 1.67 blocks per set. On the season, Whittingstall has totaled 105 blocks and ranks fourth in the conference. This was Iowa’s first defensive player of the week honor since 2013, when Bethany Yeager was recognized. It was also Iowa’s first weekly conference award of the season and first since Malu Garcia was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Sept. 30, 2024.
