SARASOTA, Fla. — The University of Iowa women’s golf team sits in 13th place out of 15 teams after two rounds at the Spartan Sun Coast Collegiate at Palm Aire Country Club. The Hawkeyes posted rounds of 306 and 325 for a 36-hole total of 631.
Senior Riley Lewis led Iowa with a two-round total of 152 (74-78). She recorded 10 birdies over her first two rounds and is tied for 24th place.
Junior Ximena Benites opened with a 5-over-par (77), registering 12 pars. She followed with a 7-over (79), including 10 pars, for a 36-hole total of 156 (12-over) and is tied for 42nd.
Senior Kaitlyn Hanna carded a 5-over (77) with 12 pars in the first round and added a 12-over 84 in the second round. She sits at 161 (17-over) through two rounds and is tied for 62nd.
Northwestern leads the team standings with a 36-hole total of 600 (294-306). Dianna Lee of Northwestern tops the individual leaderboard at even-par 144 (72-72).
