IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa shortstop Gable Mitchell was named a Perfect Game Third Team Midseason All-American, it was announced Wednesday.
Mitchell has started all 27 games for the Hawkeyes this season, batting leadoff in every contest. He is hitting .394 and leads the team in RBIs with 24. Defensively, Mitchell owns a 1.000 fielding percentage, recording 42 putouts and 55 assists.
Earlier this season, Mitchell was named to the Big Ten Preseason Players to Watch list.
Iowa returns to action April 3–5, hosting Minnesota. All three games will air on B1G+ and the Hawkeye Radio Network.
