Jake Berns Season 2006-07

2006 — Indoor – led team in mile (4:07.43)… placed fifth in mile (4:16.27) at Big Ten Championships… won mile at Jack Johnson Classic (4:10.10) and Meyo Invite (4:07.43)… Outdoor – did not compete… academic all-Big Ten… letterwinner…Cross Country – did not compete.

2005 — Indoor – ran season-best mile (4:12.55) at Iowa State Classic… placed fourth in 800 meters (1:56.49) at Hawkeye Open… Outdoor – redshirted… letterwinner… Cross Country – did not compete.

2004 — Cross Country – redshirted.

High School — won state titles in 800, 1,600 and 3,200 meters senior year, becoming the first Class 2A Iowa high school male athlete to accomplish such a feat… also won state cross country title as a senior with a personal best 16:15… five-time track conference champion, winning conference cross country title as a senior… runner-up in 1,600 (4:17.27) and placed fourth in 3,200 meters (9:27.80) with personal-best times at Drake Relays senior year… coaches were Steve Becker and John Kohlstedt.
