Before Iowa…rowed for Siobhan McLaughlin at Ridley College.
Personal…born August 12, 1999…daughter of Richard and Maria Wellenreiter…one brother Ethan…Communications studies major and Business German minor.
Why Iowa…Coach Carter and Garbutt made the decision easy after my official visit. The caliber of the rowing program, the comradeship within the rowing team, the first class training facilities and the high quality of the University of Iowa rowing program all make Iowa the right choice for me.
My favorite aspect of rowing is…the ability to push myself personally and to achieve personal bests while at the same time working with my team to make our boat the fastest possible.
What made you want to become a rower…I tried rowing at my high school and almost instantly developed a passion for it. Rowing has defined me and inspired me to always put forward my best effort in all aspects of my life.
