Carver-Hawkeye Arena is no dog pound, but in honor of the visiting team on Sunday, Dec. 21 — the Drake Bulldogs — the Iowa women’s basketball team is putting out a special offer to owners of canines of all breeds.
Fans bringing a picture of their favorite four-legged friend, be it their own german shepherd, the next door neighbor’s shih-tzu or cousin Al’s great dane, will receive admission to the Hawkeyes’ 2 p.m. game with Drake for $5. Fans will also be eligible to win a $100 gift certificate to Petland near Sycamore Mall in Iowa City…just in time to make the holidays special for Rover.

Remember: Don’t bring Spot to the game with you. A picture is all you need to bring to be eligible for a $5 game ticket and a $100 gift certificate to Petland!

And, for those fans who aren’t so lucky, or perhaps own a fish or cat, the Iowa Hawkeyes will give away two $50 gift certificates to the Official Iowa Hawk Shop to fans sitting in two pre-determined “Happy Holiday Seats” inside the Arena.
Fans interested in taking advantage of the special ticket offer should come to the North Entrance of Carver-Hawkeye Arena beginning at 1 p.m. There they will receive a special coupon redeemable for a $5 game ticket when they present a picture of the favorite dog or dogs. One picture equals one game ticket…so bring lots of pictures and lots of friends and family.
The winners of the $100 gift certificate to Petland and the two $50 gift certificates to the Official Iowa Hawk Shop will be announced at halftime.
