The Iowa women’s tennis team topped the Kansas Jayhawks, 6-1, Friday evening. The Hawkeyes improve to 7-2 in dual meets.
In doubles, Meg Racette and Hillary Mintz defeated the sister team of Courtney and Kristen Steinbock, 8-6. At the No. 2 spot, Chelsea Glynn and Anastasia Zhukova easily defeated Emily Haylock and Ashley Filberth, 8-1. Deni Alexandrova and Hilary Tyler won against Brittany Brown and Christine Skoda, 8-2, at No. 3 doubles.
Iowa won five of the six singles matches against Kansas. At the No. 1 spot, Racette downed Courtney Steinbock, 7-5, 6-0. Mintz defeated Haylock at No. 2, 7-5, 6-0. Zhukova won against Skoda, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. At the No. 4 position, Glynn topped Brown, 6-3, 6-0. Tyler won at the No. 6 spot against Filberth, 6-3, 6-0.
The Hawkeyes will compete tomorrow at Missouri beginning at 11 a.m.
