Fayetteville, AR – The University of Iowa women’s track and field team ended the 2004 indoor season at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday. Freshman Peaches Roach competed in the high jump for the Hawkeyes and finished tied for 15th place.

Roach, a Kingston, Jamaica native, had a mark of 5-8 (1.73m). Chaunte Howard from Georgia Tech won the event with a jump of 6-3 ? (1.92m). LSU was crowned the 2004 NCAA team champion, racking up 52 points. Florida was a close second with 51 points while Nebraska finished third with 45.5 points.

The Hawkeyes look to continue their success as the outdoor season begins next weekend in Houston, Texas at the Texas Southern University Relays. Events start on Friday, March 19 at 9:30 a.m. and on Saturday, March 20 at 9:00 a.m.
