Simpson Makes Academic Team

Senior outside hitter Laura Simpson was named to the second team CoSIDA Academic All-America team for District VII. Simpson was one of 12 student-athletes selected to the Academic All-District VII Women’s Volleyball squad out of 56 nominated. Simpson is an International Studies major with a 3.83 GPA.

Simpson, a native of Sassafras, Australia, has also earned Academic All-Big Ten laurels both her 2002 and 2003 seasons at Iowa. She received a Bronze I academic award from the Board in Control of Athletics in 2001.
