EAST LANSING, MI – The Iowa Women’s Tennis team completed day two of Midwest Regional competition today in East Lansing, Michigan. Doubles teams of Kayla Berry/Krissy Dowlin, Mili Veselinovic/Jacqueline Lee, and Meg Racette/Hillary Mintz competed for the Hawkeyes.
Berry/Dowlin fell in first round competition to Voelker/Schuler of Purdue, 8-4, but defeated Berdala/Perton of Indiana 9-7 in consolation doubles competition. Veselinovic/Lee fell to Remynse/Jeanmaire of Western Michigan, 8-5 in first round doubles play and defeated Hager/Vervynckt of IUPU-Fort Wayne, 8-2 in consolation doubles play. Racette/Mintz advanced due to a bye and fell to Burke/Beck of Wisconsin, 8-1 in second round doubles play.
Competition will continue tomorrow in East Lansing at the Michigan State University Tennis Center.
