CORAL GABLES, FL – The Iowa Women’s Tennis team completed day two of competition at the Hurricane Fall Invitational today in Coral Gables, Florida.
In doubles action, Meg Racette and Hillary Mintz of Iowa fell to Melissa Applebaum and Audrey Banada of Miami, 8-6, while Milica Veselinovic and Merel Beelen of Iowa fell to Monika Dancevic and Ana Rupic of Miami, 8-4. Successful against Miami in doubles play were Jacqueline Lee and Kayla Berry. Lee and Berry defeated Patricia Starzyk and Caren Seenauth, 9-7.
In singles competition today, Iowa won four matches. Meg Racette, Milica Veselinovic, Hillary Mintz, and Jacqueline Lee were all successful against players from Florida International University. Kayla Berry, Krissy Dowlin, and Merel Beelen were defeated in singles play today.
