ST. GEORGE, UTAH — The University of Iowa women’s golf team is in sixth place after playing the first round of the BYU Dixie Classic in St. George, Utah, at the 54-hole tournament Monday. The Hawkeyes carded a 316 (+28) after the first 18-holes.

Jill Marcum and Karla Murra lead the Hawkeyes with five over par, 77, in a tie for 15th. Maggie Gelber shot a seven over par 79 today to put her in a tie for 25th.

The Hawkeyes will play the second round tomorrow on the Entrada Snow Canyon Golf Course.
