Hawkeyes Race At Aramark Central/South Region Sprints

<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = “urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags” />OAK RIDGE, TN — The University of Iowa rowing team competed in four events at the Aramark Central/South Region Sprints Saturday.  The Hawkeyes will race in four final events Sunday.

In the first novice eight, Iowa finished seventh in the first heat.  From there, the Hawkeyes raced in the Repechage 1 and advanced to Final B. 

 

The first varsity four team finished sixth in heat three and advanced to Final C.

 

In the second varsity eight race, the Hawkeyes finished fourth in their heat to advance to the semifinals.  They won their semifinal race and will be in Final C. 

 

Iowa’s first varsity eight boat took third place in the heat race and placed sixth in the semifinal.  The Hawkeyes will be in Final B of this race. 

 

Final races will begin tomorrow at 9 a.m. on MeltonHillLake in Oak Ridge, TN.
