Hawkeyes Earn Academic Honors

IOWA CITY, IA –

The University of Iowa women’s track and field team and members of the Hawkeye men’s team earned all-academic honors from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for the 2006 season.

The Iowa women’s team posted a combined grade-point average of 3.130, which ranks 40th of the 61 teams honored. Utah State University led all honorees with a grade-point average of 3.497.

The Hawkeyes had a combined seven competitors earn individual all-academic honors. To qualify for the award, student-athletes must have completed at least two semesters at the institution, compiled a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 for the most recent grading period and met NCAA Division I automatic or provisional qualifying standard during the indoor season or qualified for a regional championship during the outdoor season.
