MINNEAPOLIS, MN – The University of Iowa men’s tennis team continued play Saturday at the Gopher Invitational in Minneapolis, MN. The Hawkeyes faced competition from Drake, Minnesota and New Mexico.
Iowa’s first competition came from Minnesota and New Mexico. The Hawkeyes won three doubles matches overall. The team of senior Scott Elwell and freshman Reinoud Haal went undefeated.
In singles competition, Iowa faced Drake and New Mexico. Haal, sophomore Greg Holm and freshman Patrick Dwyer posted 1-1 records for the day. Freshman Tommy McGeorge and freshman Walker Grimes both lost their singles matches.
The Hawkeyes will finish play at the Gopher Invitational Sunday. Competition will resume at 8:30 a.m. in the Baseline Tennis Center.
