“It’s always difficult to play those first couple games outside when it’s cold and I thought we did a good job adjusting. For Amanda (Zust), this is probably the coldest conditions she has had to pitch in and she got better through the day.”
“We really worked the short game well against Kent State. We took advantage of stolen bases and things like that. That really helped us get some runs on the board.”
“Our defense played well and got us out of some situations throughout the game.”
“We really let Kansas have a big inning in game two. It would have been a different ball game if not for that big inning. We have a goal every game to prevent the big inning, and it hurt us against Kansas.”
“We gave ourselves opportunities to get back in the game. We fought hard to battle back at the end.”
