IOWA CITY, IA – The University of Iowa men’s gymnastics team was defeated by Oklahoma Saturday at the UI Field House. The Hawkeyes posted a final score of 338.05, while the Sooners scored a team total of 357.75.
Sophomore Reid Urbain scored a new event high on rings for the 2008 season with a 14.70, to come in fourth place. Dustin Cranmer scored a 14.80 on parallel bars to break the second event high of the day, earning third place. The difficult event of the meet for both teams was the pommel horse. Iowa’s Jacob Becker pulled out a third place finish in the event with a 13.70.
Iowa will travel to Oakland, CA to compete at the Pacific Coast Classic. Competition will begin at 7:30 p.m. CT at the Oakland Convention Center.
