Wrestling Fans Encouraged To Purchase Tickets In Advance

IOWA CITY, IA — More than 8,000 tickets have been sold for top-ranked Iowa’s Saturday night dual with #4 Oklahoma State, and fans who still need tickets are encouraged to purchase them in advance. Match time is set for 7 p.m. at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, and arena doors will open at 5:30 p.m. The dual has been designated as a “Gold Rush” event, where fans are encouraged to wear gold attire to the meet. The match will be shown Sunday at 9 p.m. (CT) on the Big Ten Network.

Tickets are available at the UI Athletic Ticket Office in Carver-Hawkeye Arena (1-800-464-2957, 319-335-9327) or at www.hawkeyesports.com, where fans can take advantage of a print-at-home option. Tickets purchased in advance are $13 for adults, $7 for youth and $2 for children ages five and under. Tickets purchased at the meet are $15 for adults, $8 for youth and $2 for children ages five and under.

The Hawkeyes will also hold their annual youth clinic Saturday from 5-6 p.m. in Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Youth ages 7-13 are invited to participate in the free clinic, which will be conducted by members of the Hawkeye wrestling coaching staff.

The East Carver-Hawkeye Arena doors will open at 4:30 p.m. for participants and their families. Parents will be required to sign a medical release form for their child at the check-in table, or the child must bring the form with them to the arena and present it at the check-in table. Parents can print the release form online at www.hawkeyesports.com and fill it out in advance to speed up the process. The child will then be given a complimentary gold Iowa wrestling t-shirt for their participation in the clinic. Participants will receive a free ticket to the Oklahoma State dual. Parents and family members will be required to purchase a ticket at the athletic ticket office window.
