IOWA CITY, IA – The Iowa baseball team will host two mid-week contests this week at Duane Banks Field. The Hawkeyes will host Western Illinois, Tuesday at 6:35 p.m. The two teams were scheduled to play April 6, but were postponed due to inclement weather.

Iowa and the Leathernecks played a three-game series earlier this season. The series sweep was the Hawkeyes first since 2008. Iowa walked away with two one-run wins, taking the series; 4-3, 10-9 and 11-2. This will be the fourth of five games scheduled between the two teams this year.

The Black and Gold will also entertain Northern Illinois Wednesday, April 21 at 6:05 p.m. at Duane Banks Field. Both the Hawkeyes and Huskies lost a game due to weather early in the season and have added this contest to their schedules. The two teams played in 2008; the Huskies edged Iowa 5-4 in Iowa City.
