EUGENE, Ore. — University of Iowa sophomore Gabe Hull placed 15th in the discus today at the 2013 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Hull recorded a mark of 184-6 (56.25m) on his second attempt to earn second team All-America honors. He is the first Hawkeye discus thrower to earn an All-America award since Jeremy Allen earned honors in 2001.
The national championships conclude tomorrow with four Iowa qualifiers still chasing NCAA gold. Klyvens Delaunay (triple jump) and Matt Byers (javelin) compete in the trials/finals of their respective events beginning at 2:30 p.m. (CT). The men’s 400-meter relay races for a national title at 4:12 p.m. (CT), and Justin Austin chases the gold medal in the 200 meters at 4:50 p.m. (CT).
