THE MATCH-UP
The University of Iowa soccer team returns to the Iowa Soccer Complex this week for a pair of Big Ten Conference contests. The Hawkeyes host Wisconsin on Thursday at 7 p.m. (CT) before facing league-leading and 14th-ranked Minnesota on Sunday at 12 p.m.

Thursday’s game against Wisconsin is “Throwback Thursday” at the Iowa Soccer Complex. The first 75 fans will receive a free Iowa fanny pack. Sunday’s game is Alumni Day with the first 100 fans receiving a free t-shirt. There will also be a postgame autograph session.SCOUTING WISCONSIN
• The Badgers bring a 6-4-3 record into Thursday’s match, including a 3-1-1 mark in Big Ten play. Last weekend, Wisconsin upset No. 11 Minnesota, 1-0, en route to the team’s fourth straight shutout. Kinley McNicoll scored the game winner for the Badgers.• Wisconsin has scored 15 goals in 13 games this season with McKenna Meuer leading the team with five goals and one assist. Seven different Badgers players have scored — three of which have multiple goals.
• Wisconsin’s Rose Lavelle leads the team with 52 shots this season. Lavelle currently ranks fourth in the Big Ten for shots (52) and shots per game (4.33).
• The Badgers’ Caitlyn Clem has played every minute in goal, where she has posted 0.93 goals against average. She has 46 saves and five shutouts on the year.
• Wisconsin is led by head coach Paula Wilkins, who is in her ninth season with the program.
WISCONSIN VS. IOWA — THE SERIES
• The Badgers lead the all-time series, 11-5-3.• Last season, Iowa battled Wisconsin to a scoreless draw in Madison before falling 1-0 in overtime in the championship game of the Big Ten Tournament.
SCOUTING MINNESOTA
• Minnesota, who is ranked 14th in the NSCAA poll, brings a 9-2-2 record into Sunday’s match, including a 4-1-0 mark Big Ten play. Last weekend, Minnesota was shutout by Wisconsin, 1-0 — its first conference loss of the season.• Minnesota has scored 25 goals in 13 games this season with Simone Kolander leading the team with seven goals and 14 points. Thirteen different Gophers have scored — six of which have multiple goals.
•Minnesota’s leading goal scorer, Kolander, currently ranks second in the Big Ten for game winning goals (4), third in goals (7), and sixth for points (14).
• The Golden Gophers’ go-to goalkeeper, Tarah Hobbs, ranks third in the Big Ten in save percentage (.878) and fourth in shutouts (6).
• Minnesota is led by head coach Stefanie Golan, who is in her fourth season with the program.
MINNESOTA VS. IOWA — THE SERIES
• The Golden Gophers lead the all-time series, 10-4-4.• Last season, Iowa downed Minnesota, 1-0, in Minneapolis.

• Senior Hannah Clark currently leads the Big Ten in saves (61), saves per game (5.08), and is seventh in save percentage (0.813).• Junior Bri Toelle ranks second in the Big Ten in shots per game (4.92), shots (59), and is seventh in points (14). Toelle, who has a team-leading five goals this season, is tied for sixth in the league in goals.
• Freshman Emma Rigby made her collegiate debut against Penn State on Sept. 27, registering 21:50 minutes of action.
• Iowa is outscoring opponents by a margin of 16-14. The Hawkeyes have registered 158 shots in 12 games.
• Sophomore Karly Stuenkel is second on the team with three goals, two assists, and eight points this season. She notched her first game-winning goal in Iowa’s, 2-1, overtime victory over UNI.
• The Hawkeyes have used a different starting lineup in 11-of-12 contests. Five players — Hannah Clark, Brooke Backes, Kyrie Seying, Rachele Armand, and Amanda Lulek — have started every game.
•The Hawkeyes finished nonconference play with a 6-1 record. Iowa is 36-2 in the nonconference during the last five seasons.
LAST GAME
Iowa battled through two overtime periods to end in a scoreless draw at Indiana on Oct. 3. The win gave the Hawkeyes their first Big Ten point of the season.RECORD-BREAKING CROWD
Iowa had a school-record crowd of 1,847 fans in attendance during its Big Ten Conference home opener against Ohio State on Sept. 25. The Hawkeyes have had two of the top three crowds in program history in 2015. A crowd of 1,314 — third-most all-time — was in attendance Sept. 11 for the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series game against Iowa State.CLARK EYES HISTORY
Senior Hannah Clark has been in goal for 35 wins in her UI soccer career. With her next victory, Clark will move past former Hawkeye Emily Moran as the winningest goalkeeper in program history. Clark is also the school record holder in career shutouts (26), and is third all-time with 277 saves.INSTANT OFFENSE
Freshman Alina Magruder, who made her first career start at Michigan on Sept. 20, has three goals in 357 minutes in 2015. She is averaging 29.75 minutes of action a game. Magruder scored her third goal Sept. 18 at Michigan State.GAME WINNERS
Five different Hawkeyes have scored game winning goals this season. Bri Toelle has tallied two, while Brooke Backes, Tory Harman, Jenna Kengen, and Karly Stuenkel have each recorded one. Toelle’s two game winners currently rank seventh in the Big Ten.TOELLE TIES PROGRAM RECORD
Junior Bri Toelle tied the school record for single game assists after notching three assists in Iowa’s 4-0 victory over Nebraska Omaha on Aug. 23. The total is the high water mark in the Big Ten this season. Toelle shares the Iowa school record with Morgan Showalter (Sept. 23, 2008) and Jenna Sorensen (Sept. 5, 1997).QUICK STRIKES
• Freshman Hannah Brobst notched her first career goal, minutes into her first game as a Hawkeye in Iowa’s 3-0, win over UIC on Sept. 13.• Iowa scored two goals in the span of 1:39 seconds in its 2-1 win over Utah State.
• The Hawkeyes scored their third and fourth goals in a span of 29 seconds in their 4-0 win over Omaha on Aug. 23.
MAGRUDER NAMED B1G FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
University of Iowa midfielder Alina Magruder was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Aug. 25 after scoring a pair of goals in Iowa’s 4-0 victory over Omaha. The honor is the first of Magruder’s career and she is the first Hawkeye freshman to earn the weekly conference honor since Hannah Clark on Oct. 8, 2012.TEAM CAPTAIN
Senior Hannah Clark has been named Iowa’s team captain for the 2015 season. She is joined on Iowa’s Leadership Council by senior Sarah Mazur, juniors Corey Burns and Amanda Lulek, and redshirt freshman Aubree Larson.B1G IN THE POLLS
Penn State, Minnesota, Northwestern, and Rutgers are ranked in the NSCAA Top 25 poll as of Oct. 6.Penn State was voted No. 11, Minnesota is 14th, Northwestern is 22nd, and Rutgers sits at No. 23.
2014 IN REVIEW
• The Hawkeyes finished the 2014 season with a 14-7-1 overall and 7-5-1 Big Ten record.• The seven conference victories ties the program record for Big Ten wins in a single season, and the 14 wins are the second most in school history.
• After entering the Big Ten Tournament as the No. 5 seed, Iowa posted victories over No. 23 Rutgers and Northwestern to advance to the conference tournament championship game for a second straight season.
• The Hawkeyes finished 2014 with a school-record 14 shutouts in 22 games to rank 20th nationally with a .545 shutout percentage. Iowa’s defense also was in the top 35 in the country in saves percentage (31st, .838) and goals against average (35th, .754).
