IOWA CITY, Iowa — Fifty-seven individuals have been selected to represent the University of Iowa spirit squads for the 2016-17 academic year, it was announced Tuesday by spirit squad coordinator Gregg Niemiec.

“All three teams have amazing skills and great energy to represent the University of Iowa,” said spirit coordinator Gregg Niemiec. “They are ready get into Kinnick Stadium and help lead 70,000 Hawkeye fans in round after round of IOWA flags.”
The UI spirit squads held its spring tryouts from April 29 through May 1 inside Carver Hawkeye Arena. The teams were picked at finals held on May 1.
The following individuals have been selected to represent the University of Iowa for the 2016-17 school year. Teams were chosen by the coaching staff consisting of Niemiec, Jenny Eustice, Allison Smith, and Tommy Wisniewski.
