BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The University of Iowa women’s swimming and diving team opened night one of the Big Ten Championships at the Counsilman Billingsley Aquatics Center with a pair of relay finishes in the 200-medley and 800-free relay. 

HISTORY BOOKS

swimming graphicThe 800-free relay team of Hannah Burvill, Allyssa Fluit, Lauren McDougall, and Kelsey Drake rose into the Iowa record books with a time of 7:10.10, securing the second-fastest time in program history. The effort earned the squad a seventh-placefinish. 

The 200-medley relay team of Samantha Sauer, Sage Ohlesehlen, Kelly McNamara, and Sarah Schemmel finished in a time of 1:42.20.

 

THE STANDINGS

The Hawkeyes are in eighth place with 76 points through Wednesday.  Michigan is leading the championships with 120 points.

Tomorrow the Hawkeyes take to the pool at 10 a.m. (CT) and 5:30 p.m. to compete in the events listed below.
