IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa women’s rowing team has released its 2019-20 schedule, UI head coach Andrew Carter announced. The schedule features matchups against Big Ten, Big-12, ACC, Pac-12, and Ivy League teams.
Iowa kicks off its season with four events this fall, beginning with a two-day scrimmage against Indiana and Wisconsin Oct. 4-5.
The Hawkeyes will participate in the 55th Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, Mass., Oct. 19-20. Iowa will compete in its last fall event against the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas, October 20.
Iowa will start its spring competition with a scrimmage against Old Dominion University and Southern Methodist University in Waco, Texas, February 13 at 4 p.m. (CT)
The Hawkeyes will compete in Solon, Iowa, for their lone home competition of the season against Notre Dame and Oxford Brookes on April 18.
“Hosting an international university program during the collegiate season is almost unprecedented in the NCAA, so we’re excited to be a trailblazer with this event,” Carter said. “This opportunity is line with our recent years’ efforts to both provide the highest-quality experience to our team and establish the University of Iowa as an internationally-recognized rowing program.”
Iowa will conclude its regular season at the Longhorn Invitational in Waco, Texas, on April 25.
The postseason begins with the Big Ten Championships on May 17, 2020 at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis, Indiana. The NCAA Championships are slated for May 29-31 in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
